Here I go again
For those of you not into weight lifting and such, sorry for the long post.
So, after about a 3 month lapse in training, I am back to the gym. Been a couple of weeks now (actually signed up to a new gym too which has really been helping out). So, I have been getting by body used to the new equipment and getting my body used to moving again. I am doing 3 days a week, full body workout for now, probably for another month, then will be going to a 3 day split. Here is what I am doing. Any suggestions or comments?
15 minutes stretching
5 minute cardio warm-up
3 sets of 10 reps of the following, change the order around depending on muscles:
machine preacher curl - biceps
standing dumbell curl - biceps
pushdowns - triceps
machine chest press - chest
machine incline press - chest
pec deck - chest
machine shoulder press - shoulder
machine side raises - shoulder
lat pulldown - back
seated machine row - back
lower back machine - back
crunches - abs
hanging leg lifts - abs
leg extentions - quads
leg curls - hams
standing calf raises - calves
20 minutes cardio
Its a pretty long workout, I know, but I am about 2 weeks from being at the weights I was as before. Well, I welcome your comments!

So, Things have been busy for me but I will give the low down.
I have currently lost 22 pounds since starting working out 4 weeks ago.
I have done:
a 5k run (3.1 miles) on the Ellipical in 29:41 seconds.
I have run 2 Miles on the ellipical in 13:00 Minutes. (I was dead afterwards)
I have done the bike on level 7 (of 12) for 15:00 minutes at an average of 100+ rpm's
I have been doing weights consistently.
I have upped my workouts to 4 days a week.
I have accomplished a lot, and I can't wait to go back at it this week. I figure that a couple more weeks at 4 days, and I may bump it up to 5 days a week. (exciting!)
Also... on the Trainer front. My trainer unexectantly left, and I will be starting with a new trainer this coming friday. Good times. Current Mood: excited

Ran 5K on the ellipitcal today (look at the title for time)... I haven't run a 5k since a Freshman in High School. My personal best in the 5k is 19:56... I wonder if I can beat that. Total emotional and Physical High after that.
Then I did some wieghts and then a 150 Crunches... ugh.
Got a New Trainer today (Alec)... start working with him on Friday, I can already tell that he will be a better trainer than Brent.
I am going to start going to the Gym 4 times a week... god it is addicting!

The latest gym experience
So today, timcub
and I went and had our orientation session with a personal trainer... the little freebie thing they do for new members. I like the guy we were assigned. He is very cool. We talked briefly about goals and then he started us on the cardio equipment.
The first machine was the elliptical. Now, the first time I really worked out back in 2001 or so, the friend I was working out encouraged me to try the elliptical because it's very efficient and is low impact on your knees and ankles. I tried it... and got off in five minutes. In that time, my heart rate shot up to around 170 and I was quickly exhausted. I decided to stick to the exercycles and treadmills for my workouts from then on. This time, though, I wanted to try it again to see if I had the same reaction... and since I was under the close guidance of a trainer, I figured it would be safe.
He started me on a very basic ten minute program. I lasted a bit longer, but I was really, really feeling it in my quads. They were exhausted after about two minutes. My heart rate was high, but not too high so I stuck with it. The trainer, Jeff, noticed it was challenging for me so he dropped me to five minutes. I lasted five minutes, barely. I slowly got off the machine and leaned against the half wall that was there. He had me breathe deeply to calm down and said I should go get some water. I started to walk and realized my quads weren't going to hold me upright if I tried to take more than one step so I leaned against the wall some more, stretched a bit and rested while Tim finished his ten minutes. After that I was okay to walk, but my quads were totally wiped out. Next we did the exercycle for ten minutes and I did that easily. Then he took us down to the stretching area and we did some ab work. That was challenging and felt really good. There's gonna be a little sore tomorrow, but I am clearly, going to be walking like a 90 year old man tomorrow. OUCH!
I think Tim and I might want to scrape together enough money to buy ten joint sessions with Jeff. I think he'd really motivate us to get into the routine. We shall see, though. That won't be cheap. Current Mood: tired, but satisfied

Last week's Workout.
I know, I have been bad... this is what I did last week. Monday
Monday, I did the Bike for 15 minutes. I went on a level of 6, with the RPM at 90. Then periods of level 8 at 90RPM's. WORE ME OUT. After that, I did 10 minutes on the elipical. This was a first, but I really liked it. The eliptical wil be a standard I think from now on.
After that, I did free weights, and that got tough twoards the end. I like the variety of my workouts. wednesday
Wednesday was a bad day for me. I tried to do 20 minutes of the bike, but only managed 12. I tried to do 15 minutes on the treadmill, and managed only to do 10. I did my exercises in the weight room, but I was beat... I have no clue why. Friday
Friday is supposed to be "The Bag" But my Trainer had to cancel last second. I decided to go in anyhow, and I had an awesome day. I did 20 minutes of the bike at an average of 95 RPM, I bikes an equivelent of 7.2 miles. I then did the elipical, and ran a full mile on that. Then I hit the weights upstairs. I found that a lot of the machines were coming very easy to me, so I upped the weight on all of them. I was very pleased with myself.
Also, on Friday, I weighed myself... 287. I have taken 12 pounds off so far, I am very exicted about that. Take care and have a good week!
